If the outside of your roses appear discoloured or withered, don't worry! Our roses come with outer petals which protect the rose bud on its journey from the grower to your door.  These outer petals known as 'guard petals' can appear brown or discoloured in appearance. 

Don't worry though, this is their natural colouring and they should be removed upon receipt of your flowers. See the image below for an example of how to remove your guard petals.
